Time Out

Well, I haven't posted in a while so you may have figured it out already, but I thought I'd make it official...I'm taking a time out from blogging. I am currently re-assessing where my professional life is going, and I need some space and time to do that. Additionally, it's been one hell of a year (my years begin and end in August with my birthday generally) and I think it's all finally caught up with me...time to sit back and breathe for a few minutes. Thanks for reading, and being supportive!

How do you feel about this??

I'm not buying that those ladies didn't have any idea of what their husbands were up to. And if they really didn't...well, that speaks volumes about their marriages. At what point did Mrs. Madoff decide she'd turn a blind eye to her husbands hijinks?? Surely there were early warning signs?
Read the whole story here and tell me what you think.

Happy Father's Day

For all the Father's in my life, and as a child of divorced parents, there are many!

For my Dad the judge...one of his all time favorite TV characters:

Rumpole of the Bailey

For my step-dad the tennis coach...his favorite lady player of all time:

Chrissie Evert, tennis great (and my sister's namesake)

For my polish grandfather...

Pipe to smoked at all times

For my grandfather, father-in-law, and husband....all architects:

Brion Cemetery, Carlo Scarpa
(have been there with two of the dads mentioned above...a truly beautiful place)

A big thanks to all the dads in my life, past and present...

Talented Friends...

Annie Kammerer Butrus, artist and all around cool gal! I just got a new painting from her latest show, and have been playing musical art around my house for the last 2 days....move one piece and it's like a domino effect!
Anyway...here are my awesome pieces by her...(not in any styled settings, just as is for the moment)

Eddie Ross Flea Market Tour

Jaithan Kochar, Dawn Cannon, Eddie Ross, Me, Francie MacDougall

On Saturday I headed to Scott's Antique and Flea Market in Atlanta, where Eddie was giving a tour of the market. I was there with a friend from Southern Accents magazine, which was following him around the market for an upcoming piece. It was a pleasure meeting both he and Jaithan, and it sounds like we will be seeing much more of Eddie Ross in the near future!

*side note...not a successful flea market trip...only found one pair of small wood and brass candlesticks. (I had about 20 different things to look for on my list) But they were only $15, and I really love them!

Bedroom Dilemma...

King or Queen??? We currently have a king, but...because of our weird room, when the bed is centered across from the fireplace, then my husbands side of the bed buts up against my dressing room door frame, and is off center on the headboard wall (does that make sense?). So, I have room for a small nightstand but hubby gets the floor. We have had a king bed for the last 10 years of our 12 year marriage, but maybe we should go back to a queen for the sake of nightstand equality?? What do you think?

Enjoy these yummy bedrooms!!

Love the shape of this headboard!

I am totally digging the faux bois wallpaper!!

Simple, clean, love the bed...may want to do one similar to this in our room.

Interior design by Bruce Glickman and Wilson Henley.
I'm way into texture on the walls, so I love the grasscloth! Overall, such a nice fresh feeling.

Interior design by Dirk Denison and Michael Richman.
I was dying over this spread when it came out a few months ago! They aren't pictured, but he has a couple of Thomas Struth photographs that I am in love with!!! Also, the desk and nightstand in this photo make me very happy.
